One of the simplest planned gifts is a bequest through your will, in which you designate either a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate after other disbursements to go to Migdal Ohr. In addition to supporting Migdal Ohr, it serves as an example to your heirs of the values and ideals you hold dear. A bequest also can reduce the amount of your taxable estate, which may increase the actual amount available to loved ones.
The following is an example of suggested language to include in your will/trust: “I give and bequeath to Migdal Ohr, a not-for-profit organization in Israel, with Canadian Office (Charity registration number: 89287 9743 RR0001) presently located at 270- 5760 Royalmount, Mont- Royal, Quebec, H4P 1K5, the sum of $______, or _______% of my estate, to be used for the accomplishment of its general purpose (or for a specific purpose as indicated)”. You may designate your bequest in two ways:
• For the general purposes of Migdal Ohr (an unrestricted bequest)
• To be used to support a particular program (a restricted bequest)
